Abstract

Annotation: This article gives brief information about the role of irony in
aesthetic categories of literature. Irony plays a significant role in the system of aesthetic
categories in literature as it adds depth and complexity to the overall artistic experience.
It is a literary device that involves the use of words to convey a meaning that is the
opposite of its literal meaning, or to express a discrepancy between what is expected
and what actually occurs.
