Abstract: This article shows importance of reading and advantages of being a
good reader as well as it gives information about how to help to our students who are
not good at reading in increasing their abilities for being proficient readers. Main 3
effective strategies to enhance students' cognitive abilities which are reading with
expression, schema structure and teaching students for how to read a text are clarified.
