Abstract

Abstract: Assessment in teaching and learning is defined as a procedure used by
teachers and students in the learning process by which teachers provide feedback
necessary to modify ongoing learning and teaching to promote student achievement of
intended learning goals.
Assessment is a designed procedure in which evidence about student
performance is used by teachers to adjust their ongoing instructional practices or by
students to modify current instructional strategies. The two types of assessment are
formative and summative, summative assessment is typically used to assign numerical
scores with limited feedback to students.
