Abstract. This article discusses the challenges and potential solutions for improving the quality and effectiveness of teaching English language in secondary schools. The problems identified include a lack of resources, limited teacher training, large class sizes, lack of student motivation, language barriers, limited access to English language resources, and pressures from standardized testing. Possible solutions involve providing teachers with professional development, allocating resources for instruction, creating smaller class sizes, supporting students in practicing language skills, and fostering collaboration between stakeholders. By addressing these challenges, schools can enhance the overall learning experience and proficiency in English language among secondary school students.
