PSYCHOLOGICAL APPROACH TO SIMULTANEOUS INTERPRETATION

Abstract: The issue discussed in this article, as well as whether interpretation
should be regarded as an art or a science, a talent or a gift, has been hotly debated. By
contrasting the mechanisms that psychology studies with the processes required to
perform efficient simultaneous interpretation, it is clear that these processes are a
portion of a person's personality that are given to them from birth. From this point we
will examine the psychological approach to simultaneous interpretation and how it
might assist interpreters in coping with the difficulties of their line of work.
