IMPACT OF EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE ON INTERPRETATION
Abstract
Emotional intelligence plays vitally important role in the field of translation. Being emotionally literate is one of the most important skills in interpretation. Why do translators should know how to be emotionally intelligent? First and most importantly, interpreters have to accurately convey the emotions expressed in the source text in order to produce a faithful and trustworthy translation. Requirement for this is to be able to identify and understand the emotions of the characters, as well as the overall tone and atmosphere of the text or speech. And this article will explore other important aspects of emotional intelligence.
