Abstract

Annotation: Present article is to shed light on the semantic use of modal
auxiliaries, namely will, would, can/could, shall /should, must, may /might and
ought. The researchers have tried to pinpoint the mistakes that the students make
in using the above – mentioned auxiliaries, and find the proper methods that help
them to improve their performance. Besides that, in this article I want to give
information about modality, counterfactuals, propositional attitudes, evidential,
habitual, and generics.
