FEATURES OF HEART FAILURE IN PATIENTS WITH THYROTOXICOSIS

Abstract

Hyperfunction of the thyroid gland (thyroid gland) – thyrotoxicosis – is a
widespread condition associated with an increase in the level of free thyroxine (fT4)
and/or free triiodothyronine (fT3) with well -known clinical symptoms. In countries
without iodine deficiency, it is detected in 0.5–3.9% of the population, while in older
age groups, the frequency of occurrence is given the state reaches 11.8%. In regions
with iodine deficiency, including in Russia, the incidence is even higher. Most often
thyrotoxicosis develops in patients with diffuse toxic goiter (DTZ), multi- node toxic
goiter and toxic thyroid adenoma.
